Granted, many of us will never get through all the planning steps in the book, but at least you have the checklists to help you through it. These lists also provide a great reality check.
The bottom line is this: protect the data you have today then create your more extensive disaster plan. Along the way, be sure you maintain compliance with whatever regulations your company or industry is subject to. If you want the checklists and details that will help you do these things, buy the book. It's the cheapest insurance you can buy.
